Invisible Architecture

Smell is an invisible yet powerful part of how we experience and remember a place. It contributes to the identity of our surroundings, creating atmospheres, associations and a sense of belonging.

For this performance, a wooden bridge was transformed into an olfactory landscape. Its surface was infused with a carefully composed scent, inviting visitors to experience the architecture not only visually and physically, but through smell.

The intervention explores how scent can become part of a place’s identity, and how an otherwise familiar urban element can be temporarily transformed through an invisible, sensory layer.

Architecture is not only what we see. It is also what we smell, feel and remember.
